...SYSTEM MOVING INTO THE PANHANDLE BRINGING SNOW... Snow showers are expected to continue through Thursday afternoon as a low moves southward along the Gulf of Alaska coast, with periods of moderate to heavy snow expected. Snow accumulations will vary by location given convective nature of snow showers, leading to significant accumulation differences.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 4 inches.
* WHERE...Haines Borough and Klukwan, especially along the Chilkat Peninsula.
* WHEN...Until noon AKST today.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow accumulations are going to be hit and miss with the showers. Some areas will see significant snow accumulations given periods of moderate to heavy snowfall while other areas could see minor snow accumulations. Snow showers will gradually come to an end through early Thursday afternoon.
