The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of January 19, 2025 – January 25, 2025.

January 21, 2025
  • Burglary (Vehicle):
1193 Huntington Drive (Planet Fitness). On January 21, 2025 between 12 PM and 3:03 PM, the suspect(s) unknown shattered the front passenger window to the victim’s vehicle, a silver 2009 Nissan Cube, that was parked in the parking lot and stole her purse that was left in plain view. No surveillance video is available. The loss was approximately $120.

  • Robbery (Armed):
1802 Huntington Drive (7-Eleven). On January 24, 2025 at 10:40 PM, the suspect unknown, a male white adult wearing a black face mask and all black clothing, walked into the business, approached the store clerk while pointing a black handgun at him, and demanded the money from the register. Fearing for his life, the clerk gave the money to the suspect. The suspect fled the location on foot east on Huntington Drive and out of view. The loss was approximately $300. Surveillance video not working at the time of the incident. 

January 24, 2025
  • Petty Theft (Unlocked Vehicle):
1050 Huntington Drive (Target). On January 24, 2025 at 8:07 PM, the suspect(s) unknown entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle. a white 2013 Toyota Tacoma, that was parked in the parking lot and stole his power tools that were left in plain view in the bed of the victim's truck. Surveillance video is available. The loss was approximately $550.

California Penal Code 653m
“Every person, who with intent to annoy, telephones or makes contact by means of an electronic communication device with another and addresses to or about the other person any obscene language or addresses to the other person any threat to inflict injury to the person or property of the person addressed or any member of his or her family, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Nothing in this subdivision shall apply to telephone calls or electronic contacts made in good faith.” “Electronic communication device” includes items such as text messages, emails, faxes, etc.
Tips if you are receiving annoying or harassing phone calls:
1. Screen your calls. If you don’t recognize the number, don’t answer it.
2. You have no obligation to stay on the phone, do not engage in conversation.
3. Do not tell a caller where you are or give out personal information such as your name, address, social security number, bank account number.
4. Ask your phone company about privacy options for your mobile/landline phone.
