Investigation - 100 Block of South Heald Street: 
Wilmington Police are investigating what has been determined to have been a fatal assault that took place in 2024.
On June 13, 2024 at approximately 12:22 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of South Heald Street in reference to a domestic-related assault that took place. Officers located an 84-year-old male victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
In August, the victim died as a result of complications related to his treatment following the assault, and in late December the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences ruled that the victim’s death was a result of the assault.
The victim in this incident has been identified as Preston Hudson.
This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
