Updated NY Waterway service during Hoboken PATH Station closure; 15th Street reopens

UPDATE from Port Authority re: NY Waterway service during PATH closure

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has provided the City of Hoboken with the following update regarding NY Waterway service during the closure of the PATH station at Hoboken Terminal, which begins at 11:59 p.m. tonight:

PATH customers will be able to travel on NY Waterway ferries between Hoboken and New York.

On weekdays, NY Waterway will provide additional peak period service every 10 minutes from Hoboken/NJT Terminal to Midtown/W 39th St. & Brookfield Place/Battery Park City. Peak period weekday service from Hoboken/14th St. will be every 20 minutes to Midtown/W 39th St. and every 10-14 minutes from Hoboken/14th St. to Brookfield Place/Battery Park City (starting Monday, 2/3). Service from both Hoboken terminals to Midtown/W 39 St. will be extended to 10 PM from Monday-Thursday.

On weekends, PATH customers will be able to travel on NY Waterway ferries between Hoboken and New York. NY Waterway service from both Hoboken terminals to Midtown/W 39 St. will be extended to 11:59 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, additional service will be available from the Hoboken/NJT Terminal to Midtown/W 39th St. from 10 AM - 7:30 PM.

Customers will need to buy a special PATH ferry ticket at the same cost as a one-way PATH fare ($3).

Tickets are available on the NY Waterway app or at terminal ticket counters. When boarding the ferry, activate your ferry ticket and show your PATH fare card, SmartLink or MetroCard, to the NY Waterway attendant. If you are a TAPP user, show the digital cross honoring pass found at the top of the Real-Time section of the RidePATH app.  (Please make sure to update to the latest version of the RidePATH app.) Tickets are not available at NY Waterway Ticket Vending Machines or onboard.

15th Street reopens to vehicular traffic

15th Street has reopened between Park Avenue and Bloomfield Street.

The road was previously closed for construction on the Rebuild By Design - Hudson River Project’s Resist Structure at the intersection of 15th Street and Garden Street. The project will address flooding from both major storm surge and high tide, as well as from heavy rainfall events and provide residents with a new and expanded Harborside Park.

For more information about this project, see the City’s FAQ page here:  https://www.hobokennj.gov/resources/rebuild-by-design-hudson-river-project-faq
