...SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH THE PANHANDLE BRINGING SNOW... Snow showers are expected to continue through Thursday afternoon and evening as a low moves southward along the Gulf of Alaska coast, with periods of moderate to heavy snow expected. Heaviest and most persistent snow showers have been observed in downtown Juneau and Douglas, and on Western Prince of Wales Island. Snow accumulations will vary by location given convective nature of snow showers, leading to significant accumulation differences.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations around 2 inches.
* WHERE...City and Borough of Sitka.
* WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow accumulations are going to be hit and miss with the showers continuing through the evening. Some areas will see significant snow accumulations while other areas could see minor snow accumulations. Expect times of moderate snow.
