Flood Warning until 08:00PM Friday

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Virginia, including the following county, Tazewell and southeast West Virginia, including the following counties, Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe and Summers.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 906 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. For some areas, there may be a break in precipitation before heavy rain starts again. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Alleghany, Bluefield, Princeton, Richlands, Tazewell and Lewisburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
