The Buckhannon River is currently at 20.35 feet and still rising. Action stage is 21 feet, minor flooding stage is 23 feet.
Many roads are flooded at the moment, with some being impassable. More roads will flood prior to the cresting of the river. AVOID UNNECESSARY TRAVEL until waters recede. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH WATER on the roads. It is near impossible to determine the depth of the water or the condition of the underlying road, especially at night. Manhole covers may be displaced. It only takes six inches of flowing water to move a car, and one foot to move a truck or SUV. TURN AROUND, DON"T DROWN!
