...Observed flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in West Virginia... Buckhannon River Near Buckhannon affecting Upshur County. .Heavy rain will fall on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing. Flows in rivers will increase quickly and reach critical levels. For the Tygart Valley River...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Buckhannon River near Buckhannon.

* WHEN...Until this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Several streets, homes, and businesses along the river flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 AM EST Saturday the stage was 25.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:45 AM EST Saturday was 25.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this afternoon and continue falling to 8.0 feet early Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 25.1 feet on 02/07/2004. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
