Advisory

Special Weather Statement until 02:45AM Sunday

A weak system will bring a wintry mix across the area on Sunday morning with precipitation starting in the western parts of the forecast area around 3 AM EST/2 AM CST and moving eastward through the rest of the area before exiting around Noon EST/11 AM CST. At the onset, snow showers will be expected but as the morning progresses rain will begin to mix in with the snow and even some light freezing rain will be possible with cold surfaces. Although accumulations are expected to be light, this will create the potential for some slippery conditions during the morning commute. If needing to travel, plan ahead and give yourself extra time to reach your destination. Drive carefully and leave extra braking distance between vehicles for added safety.
