On February 2nd, 2025 at approximately 08:00 AM, the Cranford Police Department was dispatched to a Crescent Place residence for a report of a residential burglary and motor vehicle theft after the fact.  

It was later determined by responding officers that the suspect(s) forced entry into the residence, stole keys to the victim's Audi, and left the scene with the Audi.  The residents were home at the time of this early morning burglary.  

A white mid-sized vehicle appears to be associated with this burglary and theft, as the suspect(s) were seen arriving in this vehicle shortly before the home burglary and theft.  It should be noted that a white mid-sized vehicle was also involved in a motor vehicle pursuit with a neighboring police agency shortly after the Crescent Place burglary was reported.  

At the time of this Nixle message, we received reports of several motor vehicle burglary attempts, all involving high-end vehicles.  Reports are actively being generated on Spring Garden Street, Beech Street, and Brown Terrace.  

The Cranford Police Department and other surrounding police agencies within Union County have seen an uptick in high-end vehicles being targeted by vehicle thieves.  Please continue to remove key fobs from your vehicles when they are parked.  Also, check that your security cameras are operational.
