Police activity in the area of  Noranda Drive and Homestead Road. Homestead high school is being placed on a lockdown out of caution. Please avoid the area if possible. 

UPDATE: The lockdown at Homestead High School has been lifted. 

UPDATE 2: Just after 8 a.m., our officers responded to Noranda Dr. on a report of someone possibly shooting a firearm into an apartment building. Out of caution, Homestead High School was placed on a brief lockdown. The investigation revealed someone had discharged an airsoft type gun. No one was injured and no suspects are outstanding. One person was detained and issued a citation for negligently discharging their airsoft gun.
