On 1/21/25, deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Station responded to the 2000 Block of Michael Drive reference a burglary from a business. Deputies discovered a male subject forced entry into the business and stole property. Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Station began an investigation into the commercial burglary. During the investigation, detectives were able to identify Ryan Doran as the suspect, with the assistance of deputies from the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit. Between 1/27/25 and 1/29/25, patrol deputies observed Doran in the Thousand Oaks area numerous times and attempted to detain him for the burglary. Duran fled from the deputies each time and was able to elude law enforcement. In the evening hours of 1/29/25, a patrol deputy was waived down by an alert citizen who believed Doran was in the immediate area. Patrol deputies located Doran, who immediately attempted to flee from deputies. After a short foot pursuit, Doran was ultimately placed under arrest for the burglary. Doran was later booked at the Ventura County Jail with a court date pending, on charges of 459 PC – Commercial Burglary. Everyone in Ventura County is encouraged to keep track of serial numbered items of any valuables. The Sheriff’s Office has investigators regularly searching for stolen property and can use the serial numbers to return stolen property to its rightful owner as well as prosecute criminals. |
