An officer conducted a proactive traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, the officer found a loaded firearm in the car. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. ARRESTED: David Slaughter II, 39, for child endangerment and weapon violations.
2. Resisting Arrest (0842) 100 Block of South Center Street, Civic District
Officers attempted to stop the suspect for a municipal code violation. When they tried to detain him, he resisted arrest. One officer deployed his taser to take the suspect into custody. ARRESTED: Jeffery Edwards, 48, for resisting arrest and municipal code violation.
