Wilmington Police arrest man on financial charges following investigation:

Wilmington Police have arrested a man on financial charges following an investigation.

On January 17, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 100 block of South West Street, in reference to a fraud complaint. Upon arrival, police were informed of a theft of approximately $7,000 that had occurred. The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Through the course of his investigation, Detective Hayman identified 31-year-old Shaquille Langlois as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest. On February 3, police responded to the 300 block of Spike Drive, where Langlois was taken into custody without incident.

Langlois has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Theft Over $1,500
  • Attempted Theft Over $1,500
  • Unlawful Use of a Payment Card Over $1,500
  • Attempt to Commit Unlawful Use of a Payment Card Over $1,500
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was released on $8,000 unsecured bail.
