ARREST
South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka announced the arrest of 41-year-old Jahad Goines Sr of Laurel Court in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. On January 11, 2025, a crime victim was coming to South Brunswick Police Headquarters to make a report of the incident in which Goines Sr. was the suspect. Goines Sr. drove to the police headquarters parking lot and confronted the victim. Goines Sr. threatened and assaulted the victim in the parking lot. He then fled in his vehicle. Detective Sergeant Timothy Hoover investigated the case and recovered physical evidence linking Goines Sr. to the parking lot and the assault. A warrant was issued charging Goines Sr with 2
nd Degree Witness Tampering and Simple Assault.
On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at noon, Goines Sr. was taken into custody at his residence. He was lodged in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending his detention hearing. South Brunswick Police Chief Hayducka said, “We will not let crime victims be intimated from seeking assistance. I want to thank the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office for their assistance in this incident.”
