Deputies Locate Vehicle Burglary Suspect in a Stolen Vehicle and in Possession of Property of Multiple Victims

DATE/TIME: January 25, 2025 / 10:00 a.m.

INCIDENT: Second Degree Burglary, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance 

LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Ninth Avenue, Hesperia

SUSPECT(S): Marcus Tafolla, 34-year-old resident of Hesperia

VICTIM: Confidential


SUMMARY: On January 25, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the victim discovered their vehicle was broken into and a purse was stolen that contained electronics. The victim tracked the electronics and discovered the location to be in the area of Bear Valley Road and Ninth Avenue in the city of Hesperia. The victim contacted Sheriffs Dispatch and reported the theft. Deputies with the Hesperia Police Department responded to the area, locating the suspect’s unoccupied vehicle and observed the stolen items on the front seat of the suspect’s vehicle. A short time later, the suspect entered the vehicle and exited the parking lot. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle after the vehicle was observed colliding with another vehicle on the roadway.

The suspect, identified as Marcus Tafolla, 34-year-old resident of Hesperia, was contacted and detained. Through investigation, it was discovered the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle. The victim’s stolen items were recovered along with multiple electronic items from previous vehicle burglaries. The total property stolen and recovered was identified to be $3,855.

Tafolla was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for PC459- Second Degree Burglary, PC496d(a)- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and HS11377(a)- Possession of a Controlled Substance.
