TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Tomorrow’s Wintry Mix May Cause Flooding

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. reports that tomorrow’s anticipated wintry mix may produce flooding in certain areas.
Snow is expected to begin in the early-morning hours, after 4 a.m. with a total accumulation of less than 1” possible. Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet are expected before noon, followed by a chance of rain between noon and 3 p.m., with new snow and sleet accumulation of less than 1” possible.
Residents are asked to observe the city’s “No Parking on Snow Covered Roads” regulations due to the expected snowfall. Signs have been posted on streets throughout the City of Newark. Motorists are urged to look for the sign pictured below to identify the streets designated for no parking.
The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to burglar alarms, flooding conditions, and other weather-related incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire, and Office of Emergency Management personnel. Special attention should be given to unsecured outdoor furniture, awnings, refuse, and building materials.
