Santa Clara Police Arrest Two Prolific Burglars Following Extensive Investigation

The Santa Clara Police Department has arrested two prolific burglars, one a Santa Clara resident and the other a San Jose resident, responsible for a string of property crimes in Santa Clara. This operation was the result of relentless work by our patrol officers, Special Enforcement Team (SET) and Property Crimes Detectives, who followed every lead, reviewed hours of surveillance footage, and worked closely with victims to identify those responsible.

Investigation & Arrest:

Over the past several months, beginning in October 2024, detectives linked these individuals to multiple burglaries. The suspects targeted storage units within an apartment complex in Santa Clara, using sophisticated methods to gain entry without leaving clear signs of forced entry. They stole thousands of dollars worth of personal property, including:

Electronics– Laptops, MacBooks, iPads, gaming systems, drones, and high end audio equipment

Vehicles & Equipment– Electric bikes, power tools, kayaks, and carts

Valuable Personal Items– Handbags, suitcases, clothing, books, and coins

Financial & Personal Documents– Stolen safes containing passports, birth certificates, credit cards, and other personal identifying information (PII)

Victims from the apartment complex reported multiple burglaries between October 2024 and January 2025, with some reporting losses exceeding $10,000. In several instances, storage unit locks were picked or bypassed, and security footage showed the suspects using a stolen key fob to access buildings undetected. Detectives also discovered that stolen credit cards from one of the burglaries were later used at a gas station in San Jose.

Break in the Case:

Investigators tracked stolen property using surveillance footage, leading them to a specific area in Santa Clara where further surveillance confirmed the suspects’ involvement.

On February 4, 2025, SET officers and Property Crime Detectives executed the warrants at two apartments and five storage units in San Jose and Santa Clara, leading to the arrest of both suspects. During the search, officers recovered dozens of stolen items, including high end electronics, laptops, gaming systems, and electric bikes.

The Santa Clara Police Department is committed to protecting Santa Clara residents and ensuring those who target our community are brought to justice. We will continue to hold those who victimize our residents accountable.
