Morning Update on Wintry Mix
The Winter Weather has created some icy conditions. There have been no significant issues reported. Since 4 AM there have been 2 motor vehicle accidents. Drivers are asked to reduce speed and allow extra time for their morning commute.
Weather Report
Freezing rain and pockets of sleet are leading to crunchy/slick surfaces. Over the next few hours, pockets of mostly sleet can mix in over rain and cause accumulation to overtake any treatment, even make it a bit slushy.
This wintry mix becomes mostly, if not all rain before 9 or 10 AM. Rain then tapers off midday with temperatures solidly above freezing. Just watch for some icy spots from wet surfaces that that dry early Friday AM. Otherwise, another wintry system develops Saturday evening, which is a bit colder and will require more treatment and even some scraping
