Three arrested during Selling Alcohol to Minors Compliance Operation this week.

DETAILS: On February 6, 2025, Officers of the Traffic Investigation Squad of The Amarillo Police Department conducted an operation concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. Fourteen (14) different establishments that sell alcohol across the city were contacted by several underage patrons to check if they would sell to them. Of those 14, 10 complied and would not sell to minors. However, 4 establishments did. Yin Than, male, age 53 was booked into the Potter County Sheriff’s Office jail for Sale of Alcohol-Minor from a convenience store in the 1300 block of N Hughes. Sherrye Dawn Mayfield-Tijerina, female, age 63 was booked into Randall County Sheriff’s Office jail for Sale of Alcohol-Minor from a liquor store near 46th and Washington. Keshar Bahadur Rawat, male, age 37 was booked as well into RCSO jail for the Sale of Alcohol-Minor from a convenience store at 34th and S Coulter.  A report was made concerning a sale to a minor from a bar on Olsen Blvd. The Department appreciates the efforts of those businesses that are looking out for the welfare of our citizens.  The Detective Division will continue to run these types of operations targeting businesses that sell to minors.
