Fontana Man Arrested for Murder after Victim of January 26th Shooting in Phelan Dies at the Hospital

SUSPECT(S): Ramiro Liraaro, 59-year-old Resident of Fontana
VICTIM(S): Adan Rodriguez, 31-year-old Resident of Ontario
SUMMARY: On Sunday, January 26, 2025, deputies from the Sheriff’s Victor Valley Station responded to an assault with a weapon call in the 6300 block of Cayucos Drive, in Phelan. Upon arriving, deputies located a male, later identified as Adan Rodriguez, suffering from a gunshot wound. Rodriguez was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. During the investigation, it was learned Rodriguez had been shot at a residence in the 6300 block of La Mesa Road, in Phelan, before being transported to the Cayucos location. The suspect was not located during the initial investigation. On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Rodriguez’s condition worsened, and he was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, assumed the investigation. During their investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 59-year-old Ramiro Liraaro. On Friday, February 7, 2025, with assistance from the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, Liraaro was located in Fontana and taken into custody.
Ramiro Liraaro was arrested and booked for PC 187–Murder. Liraaro is being held at the Central Detention Center without bail.
