District Attorney Files Charges after Deputies Arrest Suspect in Possession of a Stolen Motorcycle

INCIDENT: PC 496d(a) – Possession of Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: 15500 block of Tonekai Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Jose Garcia, 33-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Friday, February 7, 2025, Deputy W. Ray with Apple Valley Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a motorcycle not displaying a license plate.
During the traffic stop, Deputy Ray and Deputy B. Almazan determined the motorcycle had been reported stolen and the rider, Jose Garcia, was arrested. Garcia was found to be in possession of illegal narcotics and was booked into High Desert Detention Center.
On Monday, February 10, 2025, San Bernardino County District Attorney filed a felony charge of driving or taking a vehicle without consent, with an allegation of previous convictions of the same crime. Garcia remains in custody in lieu of $30,000 bail.
