Flood Watch until 06:00PM Wednesday

Showers and thunderstorms associated with a slowing frontal boundary will continue to saturate soils across the region this afternoon. A surface low moving up the Texas gulf coast will produce additional widespread showers and thunderstorms through much of the day Wednesday with the heaviest activity in the vicinity of the stalled frontal boundary which will be pushed through the area by the advancing low. Rainfall totals of up to 6 inches will be possible that could result in nuisance street flooding and threaten homes that are particularly susceptible to flooding.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Rapides and Vernon and southeast Texas, including the following areas, Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton and Tyler.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
