NWS Predicting Heavy Rain and Strong Winds - Flood and High Wind Watch 
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch alert and High Wind Watch alert that include Marin County and the City of Mill Valley.
The NWS is predicting heavy rain beginning tonight, through Saturday evening. The NWS is reporting that heavy rain may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The NWS is also predicting strong winds beginning tonight, through Friday morning. The NWS is predicting southwest winds from 20-30MPH with gusts up to 60MPH.
We urge residents to take preparedness measures by moving vehicles as necessary and seeking sand/sandbags should they need them. We also suggest residents secure any property that could be moved or damaged by high winds.
Sand and bags can be purchased at local hardware stores. Sand and sandbags may also be located at the following locations:*
- Hauke Park parking lot next to Public Safety Building, 1 Hamilton Drive
- Thalia parking lot at Boyle Park off of East Blithedale Avenue
- Parking area on Molino Ave., behind Old Mill Park (approximately 100' yards east of Molino Avenue/Cascade Way)
