Flood Advisory until 10:30AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of central and northern California, including the following counties, in central California, northwestern Monterey and northwestern San Benito. In northern California, southern Santa Clara and southeastern Santa Cruz.

* WHEN...Until 1030 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 707 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Salinas, Watsonville, Gilroy, Hollister, Seaside, Monterey, Marina, Pacific Grove, Carmel-By-The-Sea, Carmel Valley, Boronda, Spreckels, Prunedale, Castroville, Chualar, Moss Landing, Interlaken, Ridgemark, San Clemente Dam and Del Monte Forest. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
