NEWS RELEASE: Hawkeye Homicide; Brother Arrested

Turlock, CA – On February 13, 2025, at 3:44 p.m., Turlock Police Dispatch received a call reporting a stabbing in the 800 block of West Hawkeye Avenue, with the suspect still in the area. Responding officers located Isaac Urias, a 25-year-old of Ceres, suffering from at least one stab wound. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts by police and fire, Isaac was pronounced dead at the scene.

As part of the investigation, several individuals present with the victim were detained for questioning. Turlock Police Detectives later confirmed the stabbing stemmed from an altercation between Isaac and his brother, Marcos Urias, a 20-year-old of Ceres. Marcos has since been arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of murder. This is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Chief Hedden stated: “This is a tragic incident where an altercation between brothers turned deadly. Our hearts go out to those affected, and we are conducting a thorough investigation to determine what exactly happened.”
