*UPDATE* Snow Emergency Parking Ban
The city has been tracking a snow system that is predicted to start around 2 a.m. Saturday morning and continue through Sunday afternoon with a total snowfall between 6" and 9".
**UPDATED**
The adjusted Snow Emergency Parking Ban will begin Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 a.m. and continue through Monday, February 17 at 5 p.m.
Department of Public Services staff will work rotating 12 hour shifts to maintain primary roads and emergency routes until the end of the snow event. Their goal is to have all side streets plowed by the end of the day Monday pending unforeseen events or changes in the weather. Thank you for your cooperation in moving vehicles off the streets to allow the snow plows to clear the roads.
During a parking ban it is a civil infraction to park a vehicle or allow it to remain parked on any residential roadway until it has been cleared of snow. Please do not shovel snow into the road or onto someone else's property. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and may be towed, and the registered owner of such a vehicle will be responsible for the towing cost. No tickets will be issued to vehicles with a handicapped parking designation.
During the Emergency Parking Ban, the gates at the Chester Street Parking Structure (180 Chester Street) will be open for free access to assist residents with moving vehicles off the street. For parking concerns please call police dispatch at (248) 530-1889.
