1. Weapon Arrest (1540) Miner Street and California Street, Civic District
The male victim, 43, and the female victim, 31, were in the listed area when they got into an altercation with the suspect, who brandished a handgun before fleeing. Officers located the suspect, conducted a traffic enforcement stop, found the suspect to be under the influence, and took him into custody without incident. The vehicle was searched, and a loaded handgun was located. ARRESTED: Sidney Rust, 34, for driving under the influence, brandishing, and weapon violations.
2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1741) 2000 Block of Fontana Avenue, Civic District
The female victim, 63, was in the listed area when the known suspect approached, assaulted her, and struck her in the face with an object. The victim declined medical attention for a minor injury. The suspect was later located and taken into custody. ARRESTED: Sara Ferrugia, 43, for assault with a deadly weapon.
3. Weapon Arrest (2154) 6200 Block of Gettysburg Place, Lakeview District
Officers responded to a disturbance with shots fired near the call location. As officers circulated the area, they detained a subject matching the description of a party involved. Officers found that the subject was in possession of a loaded handgun. ARRESTED: Frank Toney, 26, for weapon violations.
4. Burglary Arrest (0042) 3200 Block of East Eight Mile Road, Valley Oak District
Officers responded to a burglary in progress at a business in the area. Upon arrival, officers located and arrested two suspects. ARRESTED: Job Contreras, 36, and Fernando Rodriguez, 51, for burglary.
5. Weapon Arrest (0305) East Harding Way / North Center Street, Civic District
Officers responded to a call of juveniles armed with a firearm who were looking into vehicles. Officers located and detained the subjects. One juvenile was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. ARRESTED: A 17-year-old male juvenile for weapon violations.
