On February 19th, the Berkeley Police Department, with the assistance of Alameda County law enforcement agencies and the California Highway Patrol, will conduct focused traffic enforcement in the City of Berkeley.
Officers will focus on areas with high instances of collisions, traffic violations that lead to collisions, distracted driving, and other public safety-related traffic violations.
These enforcement actions will be conducted in accordance with the Berkeley Police Department’s Three-Prong approach to traffic safety, which is focused on primary collision factors and community concerns submitted by community members.
A grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provided funding for this program.
