* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Russell, Scott, Washington and Wise.

* WHEN...Until 630 PM EST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1234 PM EST, the public reported heavy rain in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lebanon, Gate City, Weber City, Cleveland Va, Coeburn, Honaker, St. Paul, Nickelsville, Dungannon, Clinchport, Castlewood, Collingwood, Hansonville, Benhams, Holston, Hiltons, Fort Blackmore, Rosedale and Dye. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
