* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, in southwest Virginia, Bland, City of Radford, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smyth and Wythe. In west central Virginia, City of Roanoke, City of Salem and Roanoke.

* WHEN...Until 700 AM EST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Small streams have been receding, but the large streams and rivers continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 410 AM EST, Flooding is already occurring. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations experiencing flooding include... Reed Creek creek in Wythe County, Wolf Creek and Walker Creek in Giles County, the Roanoke River in eastern Montgomery and Roanoke Counties, and parts of the Holston River in Smyth County. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
