...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO Midnight Tonight...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 8
  inches from north to south.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central
  and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...Until midnight CST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions
  could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST WEDNESDAY...

 
...EXTREME COLD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 25 below. For the Extreme Cold Watch, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 24 below possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central, north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 6 PM CST Wednesday.  For the Extreme Cold Watch, from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Travel is not recommended during the times in the Winter Storm Warning.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water, charged mobile phone, blankets, and other emergency supplies in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The latest road conditions in Kansas can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 and in Missouri by visiting traveler.modot.org.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
