INCIDENT: PC 488 – Petty Theft
LOCATION: 9900 block of Grace St., Bloomington,
SUSPECT: Four Juveniles ages 13 to 17
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, at about 8:28 P.M., Fontana deputies responded to a theft which just occurred in the 9900 block of Grace St., Bloomington. The victim and suspects bartered the sale of clothing via social media. At the suspects’ request, the victim drove to the 9900 block of Grace Street in Bloomington, California to complete the transaction. Once the victim arrived, he was approached by four juvenile suspects who wanted to view the merchandise. The victim allowed the suspects to handle the clothing before completing the sale. Once the suspects had possession of all the clothing items, they ran away from the victim without paying. The victim chased the suspects until they jumped a wall into an apartment complex, dropping a handgun in the process.
Deputies arrived and recovered the gun which was found to be a BB gun painted to look real. During the subsequent investigation, video footage was recovered providing deputies with images of the four suspects. Approximately one hour later, deputies conducted proactive patrols in the area and located the four suspects in the area. The juvenile suspects were contacted and found to be in possession of one of the stolen items. One of the suspects was also carrying a fixed-blade knife. All four suspects were positively identified by the victim and a witness. The suspects were arrested and subsequently cite-released to their parents from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Fontana Station.
