Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. seeks the public’s help in locating Leroy Jones, 54, who is wanted for questioning about a stabbing on February 13, 2025.
Police responded to the 1000 block of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard and found a victim bleeding profusely from several facial lacerations. The victim was with her boyfriend at a bus stop when a Black woman wearing a white shirt and black pants approached her around 6 p.m.
They began to argue and during their dispute, the Black woman pulled out a razor and slashed the victim’s face several times. After the assault, the suspect fled south on Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard and the victim was taken to University Hospital.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on Jones’ whereabouts to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
