Power Outage Off South Jefferson - Warming Shelter Available

A Warming Shelter is available at the The Free Store Ministry (615 West Elm Street) for those impacted by the ongoing power outage.

The Free Store serves as a warming center for anyone in need, and additional overflow space will be available at the Laclede County Office of Emergency Management (186 N Adams Ave) if necessary.

The power outage is affecting areas off Jefferson near Commerce Bank, including Twin Maples and Cedarcrest Drives, as well as businesses such as Commerce Bank, Denny's, Captain D's, Edward Jones, and Pizza Hut.

Cause of the outage: A large truck struck multiple utility poles, causing significant damage that requires pole replacements. Crews are actively working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Estimated Restoration Time: We anticipate a four to six-hour outage for the affected areas.

Instructions:

Prepare for extended time without power. Take advantage of warming shelter if needed.
