INCIDENT: PC 245(B): ASSAULT WITH A FIREARM
PC 417(A)(2)(A): EXIBITING A WEAPON IN A PUBLIC PLACE
LOCATION: My Hero Subs, 4190 Phelan Road, Phelan
SUSPECT: Richard Kelley, 61 years of age, resident of Phelan
SUMMARY: On Monday, February 17, 2025, at 7:49 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call at My Hero Subs in Phelan. The caller stated that there was a dispute at the business and a man pulled a gun. Deputies learned the suspect, later identified as Richard Kelley, went to My Hero Subs and tried to order a beer. Kelley was told it was past last call and would not be served. Kelley became upset, produced a firearm, and pointed it at employees and customers before fleeing the scene.
Through the investigation, deputies were able to locate a phone number for Kelley. Kelley agreed to come to the Phelan Station where he was arrested without incident. Richard Kelley was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a firearm and exhibiting a weapon in a public place. He was later released on bail.
