The Thousand Oaks Police Department is proud to announce “Coffee with a Cop” day. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services, and needs of the community. Join us Thursday, February 27th, from 9:00am to 11:00am, at Five07 Coffee Bar & Eatery, 2036 E. Ave De Los Arboles #C, Thousand Oaks, sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors. This month, members from our Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Harbor House Thousand Oaks will be joining us to answer community questions and concerns. DEU is comprised of seven detectives, who focus on protecting East County communities by actively investigating illegal activities, and also by working closely with organizations such as Harbor House. Harbor House assists clients through daily meal programs, case management and referrals, rental assistance, gas and electric assistance, jobs program, and much more. Community trust and transparency are some of the key elements to the success of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies, and the community members they serve, can continue building and growing together. The Thousand Oaks Police Department invites the community to come out and ask questions, voice concerns, get crime prevention advice, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. This is a relaxed, informal event and is not about speeches or agendas, but simply about casual conversation. The goal of Coffee with a Cop is to get to know the community better and hear about issues the residents feel are important. Building relationships – one cup at a time. |
