Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on drug charges.
On February 14, at approximately 11:37 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the area of West 8th and North Monroe Streets, when they observed a male subject engaged in drug-related activity. Police conducted a vehicle stop at that location, and made contact with 35-year-old Rakim Huggins. Huggins was found to be wanted on an unrelated matter, and was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered 4.17 grams of crack cocaine, 16.68 grams of heroin, and $5,264.
Huggins has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 3 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 3 Quantity
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
