Wilmington Police arrest two men on drug charges following an investigation:
Wilmington Police have arrested two men on drug charges following an investigation.
On January 8 at approximately 4:11 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of South Union Street regarding a complaint about products possibly infused with THC. Members of the WPD Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division responded and conducted a search, recovering 1,548.504 grams and 42 ml of products believed to be infused with THC. Detectives continued their investigation with the assistance of Delaware Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement to conduct testing on the recovered products.
As the investigation continued, police executed a search warrant and took 18-year-old Mohammed Mohammed-Gaber into custody without incident, recovering 1,754.2 grams of THC-infused products and $2,096 in currency. A short time later, 38-year-old Essam Alowishah was taken into custody without incident.
Mohammed-Gaber has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Two Counts
Alowishah has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
