Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with an armed carjacking following an investigation.
On February 18, police received a report of an armed carjacking that occurred on February 13, at approximately 7:00 p.m., in the area of East 2nd and North Lombard Streets. Through the course of their investigation, police identified 32-year-old Kacey White as a suspect. On February 18, at approximately 12:38 p.m., members of the Gun Intelligence Unit took White into custody without incident in the 200 block of Poplar Street. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in that block and recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, and a stolen vehicle.
White has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $150,000 cash-only bail.
