San Leandro Police Officers Identified in Recent Officer-Involved Shooting.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
"We recognize the seriousness of this incident and want to reassure the community that it is being thoroughly and objectively investigated," said Chief Angela Averiett. "Our department remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards and adhering to ethical practices."
All media inquiries will be handled by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
San Leandro Police Officers Identified in Recent Officer-Involved Shooting. 
The San Leandro Police Department is releasing the names of the officers involved in the shooting incident that occurred on February 16, 2025.
- Officer Blake Staniford – 3 years' experience as an officer.
- Officer Austin Lovel – 2 years' experience as an officer.
- Officer Quinton May – 3.5 years' experience as an officer.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
