TWO VEHICLE CRASH IN JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP 
Sheriff Clint Roach advised that at 7:42 P.m on 2/21/25 his Office responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Daily Rd and M 60 in Jefferson Township. The investigation shows that Madison Burke, 24-year-old Osceola resident, was southbound on Daily Rd and did not yield the right of way to a westbound vehicle on M 60. Among her passengers was a newborn child, who went by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The child, who was properly restrained in a rear facing car seat, did not appear to have any injuries.
The other vehicle involved in the crash was full sized van driven by Timoteo Ruiz, 23-year-old South Bend resident. Several of his passengers went by ambulance to Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injures. The names of the injured passengers are as follows: Miguel Jaraz (33-years-old from South Bend), Nidia Garcia (30-years-old from South Bend), and Sandra Vilcarreal (28-years-old from South Bend).
The Michigan State Police, Cassopolis Fire Department, and SMCAS assisted the Sheriff's Office at the crash scene. The incident remains under investigation.
