Suspicious Activity in Corte Madera Leads to Arrest of Two in a Stolen Vehicle 
Corte Madera, CA –February 21, 2025:
On the evening of February 21st, 2025, around 7:10PM, Central Marin Police Authority patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious person looking into garages in the Madera Gardens neighborhood of Corte Madera. A vigilant resident of the neighborhood called the police and provided a description of the man and the vehicle he had left in. Central Marin Police searched the neighborhood and located a vehicle matching the description provided. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the car in the 100 block of Mohawk Avenue, Corte Madera. Upon further investigation into the vehicle’s VIN number, it was determined to be stolen out of Oakland and its license plate did not belong to it.
Diana Spence, 38 years old from San Francisco, was identified as the driver. Spence was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misappropriation of identifications which did not belong to her. The passenger was identified as, Wesley Lawson, 31 years old from San Francisco. Lawson was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued by the San Francisco Police Department for drug related crimes. Lawson was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. During the ensuing investigation, Central Marin Police Officers located stolen property from a local Corte Madera grocery store. Spence was identified as the suspect of the theft and was also charged with shoplifting.
Spence and Lawson were booked into Marin County Jail for their crimes.
