Wilmington Police arrest man and woman on gun and drug charges following investigation:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man and woman on gun and drug charges following an investigation.
Beginning in February, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 2600 block of North Madison Street. On February 12, at approximately 6:56 a.m., police attempted to make contact with 41-year-old Donald Miller, who discarded a firearm and fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, Miller was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun, 11.73 grams of crack cocaine, 1 MDMA pill, $593, and drug paraphernalia. Subsequently, police executed a search warrant in that block, and took 35-year-old Diamond Richards into custody without incident. Police recovered an additional 2.79 grams of crack cocaine, and .039 grams of heroin.
Miller has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Two Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Three Counts
- Resisting Arrest
Richards has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child – Three Counts
- Resisting Arrest
