Owyhee River near Mountain City affecting Elko County. .Warm temperatures will melt snowpack and increase river flows. For the Owyhee River...including Wildhorse Dam, Wildhorse, Mountain City...elevated river levels are forecast.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt is expected.
* WHERE...Owyhee River near Mountain City.
* WHEN...From this evening until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Minor flooding along the river channel.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:55 PM PST Monday the stage was 7.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Warm temperatures has accelerated snowmelt in northern Nevada. This has led to a rapid rise in the Owyhee River since Monday afternoon. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain below flood stage with a maximum value of 7.2 feet late this evening, falling through Saturday morning. - Action stage is 7.0 feet. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
