Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a female Black adult.
Deputies from South LA Sheriff’s Station responded to the 1200 block of W. 87th St., in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles county regarding a report of a gunshot victim.
The incident occurred on Monday, February 24, 2025, at approximately 9:29 PM.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located a female Black adult suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, by (correction) Los Angeles City Fire where she was subsequently pronounced deceased.
A second victim, an adult male Black was shot in the foot and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, an adult male, was last seen behind the location, fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently there is no additional information.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
