Marion, NC — A wildfire on Armstrong Creek Road north of Marion is currently estimated at 40 acres in size with 30% containment. Firefighters are actively working to further contain the fire and are providing structure protection to three properties located in the 1300 block of Armstrong Creek Road.
At this time, there are no evacuation orders in place. Multiple agencies remain on the scene including Woodlawn Fire Department, Hankins Fire Department, McDowell EMS, McDowell County Emergency Management, McDowell County Rescue Squad, NC Forest Service, and the US Forest Service.
