LOCATION: Seneca Road/ El Evado Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Joel Maldonado, 27-year-old Resident of North Las Vegas, Nevada
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the area of Seneca Road and El Evado Road for a report of a stolen vehicle.
Deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as Joel Maldonado, failed to yield to deputies and a vehicle pursuit ensued. Maldonado drove at a high rate of speed and came to a stop after crashing into a 2020 Kia at the intersection of US Highway 395 and Main Street. Maldonado led deputies on a foot pursuit and was taken into custody moments later. The driver of the Kia was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Joel Maldonado was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, V.C. 10851(A)- Grand Theft Auto, V.C. 20001(A)- Hit and Run, V.C. 2800.2(A)- Evading Police.
