LOCATION: Palmdale Road/ Bellflower Street, Adelanto
DECEDENT: Adult Male (Information withheld pending next of kin notification)
SUMMARY:
On February 25, 2025, at approximately 7:07 PM, as a pedestrian crossed Palmdale Road, west of Bellflower Street, in Adelanto, he was struck by a full-size pickup truck traveling west on Palmdale Road.
The driver of the pickup truck was not aware he struck a pedestrian but immediately turned around and returned to the area. Upon the driver’s return, he discovered he struck a pedestrian and attempted to stop traffic from colliding into the downed pedestrian. Unfortunately, the driver’s efforts failed, and the pedestrian was struck several more times by other vehicles. The driver of the pickup truck positioned his vehicle in the roadway to protect the pedestrian until deputies arrived on scene. None of the other vehicles that struck the pedestrian stopped or returned to the scene. The downed pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. No citations were issued. The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators at the Victor Valley Station are attempting to identify citizens who drove in the area where the victim was found and believe they hit something in the roadway, unaware it was a pedestrian.
