Charges: 311.11(a)(1) P.C. (felony)
Incident Summary-
On 2/25/2025, at approximately 8:54 a.m., Petaluma Police Department detectives and officers from the Community Impact Response Team (CIRT) arrested Nicholas Petersen for an outstanding arrest warrant related to this investigation.
Petersen was stopped while driving into a shopping center. PPD detectives had previously received a tip related to illegal, obscene digital images/data, etc. During the investigation detectives established probable cause that showed Petersen was in possession of illegal and obscene material. Following the arrest, detectives served a search warrant at Petersen’s residence.
Petersen was arrested (pursuant to his warrant) for the following charge and booked at the Sonoma County Jail. 311.11(a)(1) P.C.; Possessing images/data, etc. of persons under 18 years of age engaging in or simulating sexual conduct.
